Taber Rehbaum – Joining the Alliance Academy Facilitator Team

Categories: Network Updates

After nine years in retail banking in the late 1980’s and early 1990’s that included serving on her bank’s Mergers and Acquisitions Team during the Savings and Loan crisis, Taber Rehbaum moved to Fairbanks Alaska to accept the position of Executive Director of Big Brothers Big Sisters Greater Fairbanks Area in 1995. She and her team managed to grow the program from serving fewer than 30 youth to over 600 by 2007. After helping the three Alaska Big Brothers Big Sisters agencies merge into Big Brothers Big Sisters of Alaska from 2007-2009, she served the statewide organization as CEO from 2009 until early 2017 when she joined the staff of Denali State Bank as a Commercial Loan Portfolio Officer, retiring as a Vice President in 2022. Taber was hired to grow and manage DSB’s BancAlliance portfolio, as well as their Capital Resources portfolio. During her tenure at DSB, she fine tuned the bank’s Credit Approval Presentation to align with the underwriting done by Alliance Partners, and developed a quarterly and annual report on the portfolio for both Senior Management and the Board of Directors. Acting on a recommendation from regulators, she also developed a system to document the bank’s independent analysis of the already thorough underwriting provided by Alliance Partners for the BancAlliance loan opportunities.

In 2023, Taber established TSR Loan Portfolio Services and began offering her assistance to banks considering or just beginning to establish a BancAlliance portfolio. After attending a number of Alliance Academy trainings, she is delighted to be part of the training team for the 2023 Level II Alliance Academy, sharing lessons learned from colleagues, examiners, the Gaffin Group, and the fine professionals at BancAlliance and Alliance Partners.

Born in Seattle Washington, Taber grew up in New England and New York State and graduated from Skidmore College with a BA in English and a minor in Business in 1974.  She currently lives in a log house on a ridge north of Fairbanks with her two dogs.
